There was another terrific batch of nominees for the 2026 award. The two selected winners were Geo Melchor, who was cited as being an ambitious wrestler and a tenacious student with real civic engagement; and Talia Tahir, cited for being an excellent track and field athlete also involved in national history day, civil rights history, and her faith community.
